Happy Birthday!

At the Parkside of Morton, we love to celebrate each other! And what a better way to celebrate than a birthday party? Once a month, we celebrate that month’s birthdays with dessert and ice cream. We enjoy hearing each other’s memories of favorite past birthdays, what the times were like when we were born, and any interesting facts about our lives. Come join the Parkside of Morton and be a part of the celebration!

Brrrr, it’s cold outside!

But, it’s warm inside the Parkside!

Why go outside when what you need is inside?  Do you need to mail a letter?  Take it to the mailroom, the postal worker will pick it up. How about a delicious lunch?  We serve them in our spacious dining room.  Need a little exercise?  Enjoy the exercise equipment in our recreation room.  And, why go to the movie theatre when movies are shown for free in the recreation room?  These are just a few benefits of living at The Parkside.

You can avoid the cold and enjoy the view from inside The Parkside!

Jesus Plaques

Can you see what this plaque says? Take a minute, your eyes will adjust….Yes, it says Jesus! This talented Parkside resident makes these plaques to give away. He has been making them for 20 years, the last 5 in the woodshop located in the basement of the Parkside. He got the idea to make these plaques from his mother. She received one at her 8th grade graduation over 100 years ago! He has made 4000 of these Jesus plaques and his goal is to make 1000 more for a total of 5000! He feels this is a way for him to show the love of God to others.

Billiards anyone?

Residents from the Parkside gather regularly to play a friendly game of billiards. This almost daily event offers friendly competition and conversation.

The recreation room also boasts a tread mill, elliptical, exercise bikes and weight machine. You also have the option of walking the clean, safe, well-lit halls of the Parkside to keep in shape. There is also the opportunity to exercise with fellow residents on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a resident led exercise class.
